Adobe at the pass

The exhibit features nine historic photographs by architect Marvin Eickenroht, who documented endangered adobe structures in 1936 as part of the Historic American Building Survey.

One of the featured sites is Casa Garcia (Los Portales) itself—an enduring example of adobe architecture in San Elizario. Visitors will explore the story of adobe, a building tradition central to the history of the Mission Valley and the American Southwest.”
